  Dundrum Football Club - U7 C1

We have come along way from September 2006 when we started with a depleted side of players due to older players graduating to under 8. And now here we are at the end of what can only be hailed as a most rewarding season. Having only lost at home twice this season i think its a record we can hold as our own for the club this year.

By the end of our match programme in the pre christmas run we had not lost a home game and were only beaten twice giving us promotion from D3 to C1. In the harder league and against stronger teams we persevered to be one of 2 clubs to lose only 3 games in the season and draw 1, the rest of the 20 games played were victories. Not a bad season for us at all with a record of 16 wins 1 draw and 3 loses we matched cabinteely on stats. As the last sunday approached neck in neck we had a home game to face against Lucan and cabinteely were at home too. After 40 minutes of football and two phone calls it was announced that they drew 2-2 and we won 3-1 giving us the un-official title of Small sided league C1 Champions.

We would like to thank firstly the players who played their hearts out all season, secondly the parents who week in week out turn up to support us and provide much needed transport to games. Also we would like to congratulate our nominees for Club Man of the Year, Patrick & Evan, well deserved and voted by their team mates. Also another decision that was voted for by the players was Player of the Year and these nominees are Scott Costello Rodgers and Cahill Kissane. Well done again lads and thanks to Dundrum Athletic for having us. We will be announcing the winners of the 2 votes at the end of year presentation.
