Coaching
Dundrum FC has a number of FAI accredited soccer coaches.  Qualifications range from the basic “Kick Start” to the higher badge levels.

Coaching is not to be confused with training.  Training is the practice of player skills and the development of fitness levels.  Coaching is the development of individual player and team skills with the objective of combining and applying these skills in a competitive soccer match.

Coaching sessions should be planned, well structured, designed to stimulate player interest and always practised in a safe environment.  Success only comes from consistent, sustained, progressive coaching sessions.  There are no “quick hit” solutions to success in soccer.

There are different levels of coaching qualifications to suit player age groups.  For example in coaching younger children (6-10yrs), the emphasis is on fun, learning how to train and the introduction to basic soccer skills.  In coaching with older age groups (12yrs+) the attention is on the introduction and development of technical and tactical skills.

For anyone interested in coaching, Dundrum FC strongly recommends completion of the various FAI coaching courses.  Check out the “Coach Education Pathway” at FAI.ie-Coach Education.
